Linking the city of Paris to the airports of Roissy Charles de Gaulle and Orly, Air France shuttles will be transformed into real mobile art galleries.
Artists are often known for creating original exhibitions in order to stand out. Here, until May 17, six painters and photographers are touring the city of Paris on 25 different buses. Wait a few minutes at Gare de Lyon, Place de l’Etoile, Porte Maillot, Porte d’Orléans or Gare Montparnasse and you will be able to access, thanks to a single bus ticket, an exhibition of contemporary art. According to Le Parisien, these « exhibition buses » will cover a distance of about 43,000 kilometres.
No more expensive than usual
Travellers will be able to exchange with the artists. Among them are photographer Yann Sciberras and artist Arié Botbol. In total, 3.5 million people are expected to attend, which will be an excellent publicity opportunity for the company Air France, but also for the artists present. Travellers will not pay more than the price of their normal ticket.
In Stockholm, public transport had also been transformed into art exhibitions. The metro stations had been completely redone by artists. 90 stations out of 110 have become works of art in their own right, presenting paintings, sculptures, mosaics… What do you think of this approach?
